When you create a DressMatcher account, we collect your name, email address, birthday, and a securely hashed password. DressMatcher does not currently process customer payments on the public site.
We collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics, including pages visited, time on site, device type, and general geographic location. This analytics data is never tied to your account.
Your search queries and saved favorites are stored with your account to personalize future searches and to sync favorites across the devices where you're signed in. If you're not signed in, your favorites are stored in your browser's local storage on that device only.
If you use our image-based search inside the quiz (upload a photo of a dress you like), the image is sent to Google's Gemini and Vertex AI services to extract visual attributes and a similarity embedding. The raw image is not written to DressMatcher's database and is not retained on our servers after the request completes. Google's handling of the data is governed by their terms for Gemini and Vertex AI.
Your account information is used to manage your account and personalize your experience. Anonymous analytics data helps us understand how people use DressMatcher so we can improve the product. We don't sell, share, or rent any personal data to third parties.
DressMatcher does not currently process customer payments on the public site. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll update this policy before collecting payment information and will disclose the payment processor we use at that time.
We use Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics. When you click to shop a dress, you're taken to the retailer's website, which is governed by their own privacy policy. Some of those outbound retailer links are affiliate or tracking links that route through affiliate networks (for example, Rakuten Advertising, Impact, CJ Affiliate, Awin, Sovrn Commerce, or FlexOffers) so the network can credit the referral to DressMatcher, and DressMatcher may earn a commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you. Those networks may set their own cookies when you click through, governed by their privacy policies. We never send them your name, email, search history, or any other personal information. When you click a shop link, we also record the click on our own servers — the dress it belongs to, a timestamp, and an anonymous session identifier — so we can measure which results people find useful and improve ranking quality. This click data stays first-party and is not sold or shared. We never sell personal data.
You can view, update, or delete your account information at any time from your account settings page. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. To request a full export of your data, email us at admin@dressmatcher.com.
